It was an honor to be invited to speak at the Trigeminal Neuralgia (TN) Support Group meeting in Tyler at East Texas Medical Center (ETMC) on Friday, Dec. 14. This condition involves the 5th Cranial Nerve and is a nerve disorder of unknown origin. It causes sudden shock-like facial pains, typically near the nose, lips, eyes or ears. It is said to be the most excruciatingly painful human condition in the world. Link to TNA website

Having been a severe Migraine headache sufferer, I can’t imagine the pain someone with TN experiences. It really makes you appreciate what health you do have when you hear some of the stories of individuals who are in so much pain they are willing to end it all with suicide (see What Time Tuesday).

As an Upper Cervical Chiropractor I have the unique opportunity to practice a type of chiropractic technique that has been successful in helping people with TN. As a matter of fact, my presentation touched on the connection between TN, Migraine headaches and High Blood Pressure. The proper function of this area of the spine and the brain stem is crucial and is most likely effected when there is an upper cervical misalignment (subluxation complex).

At this writing I am awaiting copyright approval for some illustrations I would like to post on this site. Once they are approved, I will be posting my presentation and it will be posted on the Texas TNA website as well.

If you are having facial pain, Migraine headaches or suffer with HBP, Upper Cervical Chiropractic may be helpful. There is no way to know until you are examined by a trained upper cervical specialist who can detect and correct the misaligned vertebra.
